Band 7

Permanent 18.75 hrs per week – days can be negotiated.

The Walton Centre is the UK s only standalone neurosciences NHS Trust, delivering a range of specialist services to a population of 3.5 million people across Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire, the Isle of Man and North Wales.

The Walton Centre s Therapy service offers excellent development opportunities for ambitious Occupational therapists who strive for professional excellence.
We require a suitably experienced Specialist Occupational therapist with a strong interest in the management of Acute Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) in an Acute Neurological Sciences setting to provide assessment, advice and treatment to patients with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) as part of a newly established and evolving multi-disciplinary SCI service. This is an evolving role within a new service pathway.
Drawing upon a broad range of clinical experience and knowledge of spinal cord injury ,you will coordinate and provide highly specialist occupational therapy interventions and direct clinical support and training to occupational therapy staff and students.
As an effective team player you will have excellent organisational skills and a flexible approach to service delivery. You will develop and maintain close working relationships with The Walton Centre SCI MDT, therapy teams and relevant external clinical colleagues working collaboratively to ensure high quality care and services are delivered. You will have a strong interest in audit and research with an ongoing commitment to CPD, service development and innovation.
You will be supported by other Acute Service Team Leads, the Principal Occupational Therapist and the Therapy Services Manager
